Beverly Hills…Santa Monica…Hollywood…Glitter…Glamor…Girls-Girls-Girls…
Girls-Girls-Girls??? I’m torn out of my thoughts.
“There…there is a nightclub. Girls Girls Girls it’s called. I thought teht da geschrieben. I thought something like a red-light-district is something like banned in the US?”
“Hmm, I think it’s okay when they call it a Cabaret Show.” thinks Matthias.
Cabaret-Show? Well, so the girls here have to be funny as well? As it were Stand-up Comedy…
In any case, the world around our hotel in L.A. is not glamorous at all. The security of a T-Mobile shop (I think that says it all) meant it would probably be better if we run a taxi.
But it’s not so far to Hollywood Boulevard … and it’s only seven o’clock in the evening … although dark, as we have winter, but still …
We make tracks, take our shoes and walk to Hollywood Boulevard.
We survive the trip there and back undamaged, there’s all well and good but…. I guess beatuy lies in the eye of the beholder. Also our hotel room. Well, let’s call it The Whole, is really, really not nice at all! But nice loud – next to a fat main street.
Even Hollywood Boulevard is not our world. There are the stars, good, and the tourists, good. Note: I’m not a fan of anyone. Can’t find no star I really feel like taking pictures of …
…But the next day I find a lot of great photo opportunities! We treat ourselves and buy a ticket for a hop-on hop-off bus. That was good a brilliant idea! The city is so huge, so you do not know where to start sightseeing and where to stop! And so we hop around with the bus and get a nice impression. Although, beautiful is exaggerated again. Our favorite city it might will not be …
Here’s a little pot-puree (or what is it called?) from Los Angeles:
Christmas at Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills:
And did you know that you not only can have breakfast at Tiffany’s but also can buy ear-ring and stuff like that?
And then there is the beach, in Santa Monica. They produced Baywatch here. Not in Malibu, no, HERE in Santa Monica!
And here he is: Mitch!
Venice Beach I can’t recommend! Here live all the homeless people right next to the tourist-souvenier-shops…
Die Melrose Ave is much better. And hipper – t da schon viel netter und auch hipper – for the fashion-conscious among you.
The next day we visist Downtown L.A.
That’s my favourite place to be in L.A. A lot of lovely coffee shops, nice little restaurants and not as much tourists as in Hollywood.
Tip: Do you want to have a nice view? Go to the Civic Center – here you can go up for free and enjoy the city from above!
And only a few steps further you’ll find Angel’s Flight – the shortest railway in the world. And for only 1 dollar you can get a ticket.
Once uphill you can enjoy some food or coffee. Or take pictures:
And via the Mulholland Drive you can wave good-bye…
Yep, we left the city well and gladly behind us. Anyway, we have landed in the Joshua Tree National Park – now it’s time to hike!
