Kiki’s Veggie Burger (vegan)

As a dip I recommend you a home made guacamole. And what about cole slaw as a side dish?

Kiki's Veggie Burger (vegan)
  1. Cook brown rice in salted cooking water.
  2. Toast sunflower seeds without fat in a pan. Then remove and put aside.
  3. Put some oil in the hot pan and add the diced onion. Sauté until onion is soft. Add the black beans and mash them, leaving only a few whole beans.
  4. Add sunflower seeds, bread crumbs, cooked rice and seasoning. Knead and mix everything with your hands and season to taste.
  5. Now form the patties. Knead first a ball and then form the patty - the better kneaded and pressed the more compact the patty. Use wet hands, then the dough isn't sticky 🙂
  6. Heat skillet, add oil and grill your patties 3 - 4 minutes on each side.
  7. Serve your burgers on toasted buns with desired toppings.
  8. Yum yum!

Make sure to cook the rice al dente and not too soft – then you have something to bite! And knead the dough properly, not just stiring – then your patties are really compact and don’t fall apart. By the way,  of course you can also throw them on the BBQ …
