Bay View and Red Hill Loop. Spring.

After weeks of shivering and countless rain drops, finally spring has arrived! But the rain did a nice job and everything is in blossom and green – so the contrast to the blue sky and the bright sunshine is simply beautiful! Let’s get outside!

I meet my friend Julia. She comes from Salzburg. Yes, Salzburg, my home town in Austria. Isn’t it a small world we’re living in? Matthias is not allowed to come with us. He has a sore throat and fever and must stay in bed. So poor!

Julia and I drive by car to Fremont – on the other side of the bay.
Watch out: The Dumbarton Bridge is only free from Palo Alto to Fremont – backwards you have to pay tolls – whoever wants to save them should drive home via Milpitas!

Arrived we find green hills and blue water. Plenty of birds – large and small – colorful flowers and sunshine.

We march up and down and chat about God and the world. Oh, and of course enjoy the spring weather! The wind is still a bit fresh, but we overlook it generously.

Yesterday I had a nice day too! As there was spring as well I was going for a walk with Irma, my physiotherapist, her dog, Teddy, and her husband, Bob. She had invited me since I like dogs, the nature and want to improve my English. And what can be better than strolling in Mother nature while have a fine English conversation? Exactly. That’s why she invited me. And as an extra bonus, I got some of Bob’s freshly baked bread and a few lemons from the gigantic lemon tree in the garden. And Irma is not only super nice – she also treats fantastic!

And tomorrow? Well there is even more spring with sunshine and more hiking! With new friends from the Friday Movie, we’ll hike the mountains of San Francisco! I’m already looking forward to, it’s just a pity that Matthias can not come with us. Hopefully, he is in good health soon so he could hop with me together through springtime!

PS: If you have two hours left and would like to do a nice walk: Bay View and Red Hill Loop. 4.8 miles.
